Neighborhood Gatherings Volunteer
The Membership Department needs one short term volunteer to help send out invitations for neighborhood gatherings. Work includes identifying places to hold them (cafés, coffee shops or hotel lounges), keeping track of answers and following up with reminders, and hosting the events. If you’re interested in volunteering at WICE but can’t commit long-term, this is a great position for you!
Qualifications: You should live in Paris and you enjoy social and multicultural contacts as the role includes meeting people.
Time Commitment: 4-5 hours a month from home or from Wice office
Start/End Date of Position: This position is currently open. Ideally, candidates should be available at least 3 - 4 months.
Visual Arts Department Team Member
Department Description: The Visual Arts Department offers several courses, for both complete beginners and experienced artists, including drawing, painting, photography, and more!
Job Description: As a member of the Visual Arts Team, you will share the responsibilities for the ongoing management and administration of WICE Visual Arts classes. This includes developing the calendar of classes, coordinating classes with the instructors (identifying instructors for new classes), and monitoring and evaluating classes at their completion.
Qualifications: Candidates preferably hold an interest in art
Time Commitment: One day per week or less
Start/End Date of Position: This position is currently open. Ideally, candidates should be available until at least June 2012.
One-Hour Lecture Program Leader
Department Description: One-Hour Lecture Series offer lectures and workshops on different topics like lifestyle, culture, arts, etc. The program is part of Living in France Department.
Job Description:
- creating and overseeing the program offerings
- recruiting instructors for the courses and associated administrative work
- collating data on course attendance and reporting on a regular basis
- collating and verifying submissions for the website/catalogue on a semester basis
- liaising with WICE Office, marketing, website and promotion teams
- attending Program Directors' meetings
Qualifications
- Speaks English, knowledge of French is an advantage
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office packages, use of internet and e-mail
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organizational skills, written communication and reporting skills
Time Commitment: It is possible either to work mainly from home or to go to the office. The hours necessary depend on the organisation and efficiency of the volunteer, but a commitment of about 2 - 4 hours/week is expected.
Start/End Date of Position: We are looking for someone who is available until at least June 2012.
