WICE is a membership organization run by members for members. A talented group of volunteers contribute to keeping the organization flourishing. Their work, dedication and interests make WICE a vibrant and dynamic organization. New volunteers are always needed and welcome. Areas in which our volunteers contribute include marketing and communications, office administration, member & community relations, volunteer management, website and database maintenance, curriculum development and management. |
Volunteer Application1. Consult the list of available volunteer opportunities (found below) to see if your skills and availability match with our current needs. 2. Fill out our Volunteer Application Form.
3. Upon receipt of your completed application, we will contact you to schedule an interview to discuss your interests, talents and availability, and to provide you with more information about our current opportunities. Volunteering positions require WICE membership. Membership in the association is required for all levels of participation. However, new volunteers receive a 50% discount on their first adhesion, and will be renewed free of charge as long as they remain an active volunteer in the association. Would you like to exercise your technical skills in English and volunteer to support a diverse non-profit organization? The Paris-based adult education center WICE (Where Internationals Connect in English), is currently building a small team of internet technology-savvy volunteers including an overall Systems Coordinator to help with the following projects:
This English Guided Discussion Group is open to people who have a strong intermediate or advanced level of English. Our group leaders suggest interesting topics and readings prior to each group discussion. If you enjoy reading, speaking, presenting, and engaging in diverse topic-centered discussions, this group is for you. In addition to learning and developing through guided discussions with other participants, you will also have the opportunity to get personalized constructive feedback. The group speaks only in English for 90 minutes. The requirements to become an English Group Facilitator are: native English speaker, interested in and skilled at selecting topics that will appeal to a diverse group of francophones, creating a congenial atmosphere in which everyone is comfortable participating in the conversation. With four facilitators, each person is responsible for one class per month, schedule to be worked out among the four. The discussions take place on Zoom, Thursdays from 14h - 15h30 CET. The Living in France Department delivers a program of activities that enhance the experience of living in France for people both new to Paris and those who want to delve deeper into the City’s secrets. Through the provision of a program of practical courses such as cooking and wine tasting, plus courses that range from hands-on workshops to behind the scenes tours on such topics as perfume making and fashion, participants can learn how to master the French art of “savoir vivre.” You will work with our team of very experienced providers who continue to strive to improve the living in France experience for our WICE members. The Walks and Visits Department delivers guided visits of museums specializing in painting, sculpture, architecture, as well as French and international institutions. We offer to our members programs to know Paris better, such as walking tours of specific locations or themed walks through Paris: back streets of Paris, typical markets, hidden courtyards, passages and interesting buildings. The Accounting Assistant works closely with the WICE Treasurer to import financial data into Quickbooks on a weekly basis (2 hours a week in the WICE Office). Training on internal systems will be provided. Previous experience with Quickbooks is required. As part of the IT support group in WICE, this position works closely with the WICE Programs team, including the Program Manager and Department Coordinators and Office Manager. Job Description:
