It is impossible to characterize the general nature of the wine produced within the borders of Italy. From the Italian Alps to the island of Sicily, the terrain produces a vast amount of grapes along with an equally broad amount of diversity, all of which has evolved throughout 3,500 years of constant husbandry. Italy produces and exports more wine than any other country in the world.

With 20 distinct wine regions Italy offers a wide variety of  tastes from Barolos and Barbarescos of The Piedmont region, to Chiantis and Soave further south.

Our instructor, Thierry Givone, will take you on a tasting tour of wines and grapes from this productive region

About the instructor:  Thierry Givone was born and raised in Burgundy, with two uncles working for a prestigious winemaker in Beaune. After graduating from the Wine and Spirit Education and the Wine University of Bordeaux, he created Wine Tasting in Paris to share his passion for wine. He is a jury member for wine competitions and provides tastings for visitors from all over the world. We are fortunate that he is opening his private tasting room especially for WICE members.
