Workshops by Nancy Jochimek & Alastair Arthur

This workshop, the third in a series of four, focuses on the most popular feature of all smart devices -- the smart camera. Android, iphone, ipad and tablet users are all welcome.  In this workshop we will introduce you to advanced photo editing application tools that will allow you to achieve quality photos and to develop your creative style.  We will review the photos of various photographers and discuss their various artistic styles.  From there we will take a look at successful, yet very diverse, online personalities and businesses to discuss what makes their online profiles effective.  Is it their beautiful photos or the stories they add to their images, or is it just a popular brand like LVMH or a celebrity like Beyonce?

For the second half of the workshop we will get practical and head out on a photowalk between Concorde, Jardin de Tuileries and the Louvre.  We will present a few creative exercises that you can explore on the walk.  We will talk about looking at a subject and trying to foresee what you would like the photograph to look like before taking the photo and how, with the new editing tools, you will be able to achieve that objective.  We will then regroup at a local café for a cup of coffee and to review your photos together.

NOTE:  While this is a four-part series, you can register for any seminar.  Each seminar is designed to provide an overall understanding of smart cameras from various perspectives.   We have prepared indoor photo walk locations in the event of heavy rain.  In the event of drizzle, we will not change the location given the beautiful effect of rain in photography. Drinks at the cafe are not included in the workshop cost.

Please bring either your smartphone or tablet to each seminar.  Both Apple and Android devices are welcome.
