A beautiful portrait can give us insight into the expression, personality, and mood of a subject. The focus is usually on the face but context and background can be included.

This course offers participants a special opportunity to learn about studio portrait photography. Not only will you get practical advice on lighting using umbrellas, soft boxes and reflectors, you'll also learn how to direct a model and posing techniques. A review and suggestions for your images will follow.

Students can expect to:

  • learn the keys to portrait photography
  • learn about studio lighting techniques
  • get hands-on experience with practical assignments
  • participate in a friendly critique of their work.

Course Requirements

  • A camera that can be set in manual mode
  • Space is limited; sign up early to avoid disappointment
