The current imposing Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) in the fourth district has been the location of the municipality of Paris since 1357 and regularly welcomes distinguished foreign visitors to its prestigious reception rooms.

Come and discover its sumptuous reception rooms, lavishly decorated to extol the glory of Paris. Decorations by artists such as Ingres and Delacroix in the 19th century made this the capital’s most beautiful palace.  In the early 20th century, celebrated painters and sculptors turned the Hôtel de Ville into a temple of contemporary art. The Salle des Fêtes evokes the magnificence of the city‘s festivities, with paintings depicting an invitation to the ball, music, flowers and perfume. The other famous rooms pay homage to agriculture, science, literature and the arts. You will also discover the main staircase and the ceremonial room decorated by the famous Symbolist painter Puvis de Chavannes.
