A beautiful portrait can give us insight into the expression, personality and mood of a subject.  The focus is usually on the face but context and background may be included.

This course offers participants a special understanding of professional portraiture by analyzing the great figures of the contemporary scene.  You’ll get practical advice on applying lighting techniques.  A review and suggestions for your images will follow.

Students can expect to:

  • Learn the keys to portraiture photography

  • Learn about lighting techniques

  • Get hands-on experience with practical assignments

  • Participate in a friendly critique of their work.

Suitable for all levels of photographer.  Participants are to bring a camera that can manually set ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and/or are able to set a manual mode.  A lens of approximately 50mm full frame is highly recommended.
