Embroidery definitely is for you - great! This course will introduce the 18 basic needlework stitches with a lovely linen sampler and from here the world is your embroidered oyster!   You will learn how to transfer an embroidery pattern, set up an embroidery frame and the eighteen basic embroidery stitches (straight, back, stem, blanket, fly, feather, chain, daisy chain, French knots, bullions knots, chevron, herringbone, straight satin, diagonal satin, seeding, long and short, coiling).   Cost of materials included in fee. 

About the Instructor: Rebecca Devaney is a textile artist, researcher and educator who currently works as a Haute Couture Embroiderer in Paris, France.  She has a BA in Art and Design Education and a MFA in Textile Art and Artefact from the National College of Art and Design, Ireland and recently completed professional training in Haute Couture Embroidery at the École Lesage, France.
