This project-oriented class is designed to inspire continued movement along your photographic path. We will experiment with both technical and creative practice, with a focus on subject selection, concept, composition, lighting, exposure, and post-production techniques—all centered around expressing personal style, expanding the boundaries of your current approach to photography, and discovering the benefits of exploring a single theme in depth.

You will choose a theme to work on throughout the course, so that your final project will be a collection of images interwoven in style and subject.  Class review will help with the final selection of your images and the refinement of your work.

Students can expect to:

  • Become more familiar with their camera and its creative and technical options
  • Learn technical and creative techniques to create images with impact
  • Discover elements of your personal style
  • Move their work in new creative directions, especially by focusing on thematic work
  • Participate in a friendly critique session of their work

Suitable for all levels of photographer.
