Transforming racism: understanding its origins (Part 1)

Wednesday 15 July, 6 pm to 7:30 pm:

Transforming racism: understanding racism is a system (Part 2)

Looking around the world that has taken to the streets in protest for the last 25 days (and still counting), we as a society are being called to change. My invitation is to understand the origins of the white race and its impact through a generative dialogue: seeing/hearing/feeling then sharing perceptions.

We will explore:

  • How can we recover from the 400 years of racist history and conditioning ?
  • How can I acknowledge the uncomfortable racial truths?
  • How can I feel their impact on BAME/BIPOC people? On white people? And in our relationships?
  • How to increase racial justice:  not act as a racist?  Share good practice for BIPOC/BAME allies?

About the Presenter:

Kathleen Dameron has lived in Paris for 44 years. She has studied and worked in Europe, China, India as well as the US. She has deep experience and competency facilitating different cultures to work together in multinational companies.

She’s an experiential historian of the white & the black, and the tensions we have had over the years.
