This program builds on the basics of French. It is for students with a basic understanding and ability to communicate and exchange information in a simple way. At the beginning of the program, students can ask simple questions and understand simple answers. You will develop and improve your French language competencies in areas of writing, speaking, listening, and reading. This program’s use of interactive learner-centered methods facilitates engagement and lasting progress.

Please note that this program is geared for learners with some prior knowledge in French (Advanced Beginner). Meeting twice a week for 90-minutes, this course will be held mostly in French to maximize learner exposure to the target language during the initial stages of the French language acquisition process.

About the Instructor: Camille ESPLENDIU has a Masters degree in French language as well as an undergraduate degree in English and Spanish.  She began her teaching career in Paris teaching American university students. She then spent one year as a lecturer at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.  Camille has been teaching in Paris for three years at various schools.  She specializes in teaching adults and professionals.

Special Instructions: Before registering for the program you may want to check if the level is right for you using the French Placement Test. We recommend that you take this assessment once, without assistance or study aids.
