In the village of Tsintsuntsan (the home of the hummingbird) in Mexico, mothers embroider scenes from everyday life for their daughters before marriage, to be kept as souvenirs and heirlooms. You will choose a photograph of a cherished moment in time and embroider your own keepsake or perhaps give as a gift to a loved one. You will learn how to plan an embroidery using a sampler of stitches (straight, back, stem, fly, daisy chain, french knots), design an embroidery pattern, transfer an embroidery pattern and set-up an embroidery frame. This workshop is ideal for those who have fallen in love with embroidery and are eager to start expressing their creativity by embarking on inspired personal projects.
