    WICE Members & Their Guests

This class has been postponed to January. Please stay tuned for more news on this class in the coming weeks.

To decorate the entrance of the WICE office, we propose to create a knitted trailing vine, to demonstrate our skills and symbolise the networks we have developed.

We welcome WICE members who enjoy knitting to help us with our project

. It’s a great way to use up odd 1⁄2 balls of wool you may have. We’re happy to have a mix of colours, weights and textures – to reflect our membership!

The sessions are suitable for experienced or novice knitters who can increase/decrease and read a basic pattern. Guidance can be provided, if required.

The first session/s will provide further information on the project and we will knit as many leaves as we can. If you are then able to knit more at home, that will be appreciated!

The final session will involve placing the leaves on to the stalks ready for display.

Materials required:

  • Ball(s) of green Aran-weight/worsted (10 ply) wool or finer wool/cotton (4 ply to DK) doubled. The leaves need to have a bit of substance
  • Knitting needles size 4.5mm/US 7 or 4mm/US 6 (but depends on type of wool)
  • Wool/tapestry needle
  • Some spare needles and scissors can be provided
  • Patterns will be supplied
  • We apologise that, under current conditions, we can’t provide tea/coffee and biscuits....

Paris wool shops are listed here:

Non-specialists, but at various locations (+ cheap!)
