WICE continues its popular Creative Writing series with a course that focuses on non-fiction works, such as profiles, reviews, personal essays and human-interest articles. With instruction on interviewing, research, structure and literary techniques, the workshop comprises in-class exercises and discussion, in an interactive format. Participants will develop skills to produce creative non-fiction writing of high, publishable quality.
Alecia McKenzie is a writer and editor based in Paris. Her first collection of short stories, Satellite City, and her novel Sweetheart have both won Commonwealth literary prizes. Sweetheart - translated into French as Trésor - was awarded the Prix Carbet des lycéens in 2017. Other books include Stories from Yard and A Million Aunties (her most recent novel). She holds an MSc from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and has written numerous articles for a wide range of international publications.
