Wire-wrapping, a versatile, essential element of jewelry design was devised to form transformational connections much like a certain accessory brings an outfit together and gives it new life.
Wire-wrapping is a technique used to create: dangle, chandelier and other types of earrings; pendants; wire and bead necklaces and bracelets; rings; wire beads; clasps and chain. In an interactive, creative, convivial and collaborative atmosphere, you will learn how to create two types of dangle earrings as well as a wire and bead bracelet. Once you have mastered this simple technique, Allison Wiley will show you how to use your own creativity and new found skills to create fabulous, one of a kind jewelry for yourself and others. Best of all, at the conclusion of the two hour course, you will leave with two pairs of earrings and a bracelet.
Students can expect to:
Receive all the tools and materials required to complete this project
Learn and apply the 3 T's: terminology, tooling and techniques Learn how to create various types of earrings
Learn how to create a wire & bead bracelet using a single piece of wire
Leave class with two completed projects: two pairs of earrings and a bracelet
About the Instructor: An avid hobbiest turned jewelry artist, Allison Wiley studied jewelry design and creation at many prestigious institutions and with prominent practitioners in her native New York before moving to Paris 10 years ago. She has taught jewelry classes at various locations to the expat community, authored countless articles on art-related topics for Expat Magazine, displayed her jewelry creations around Paris and continues to offer in-home private/ semi-private/group classes upon request.
