A beautiful portrait can give us insight into the expression, personality and mood of a subject. The focus is usually on the face but context and background may be included.
This course offers participants a special understanding of professional portraiture by practicing different techniques and understanding how to use light. A review and suggestions for your images will follow as long with a review of the great masters of portraiture photography.
Students can expect to:
• Learn composition for your portraits;
• Learn about lighting techniques;
• Learn about natural and available light in portrait
• Get hands-on experience with practical assignments;
• Participate in a friendly critique of their work.
Course Requirements: Suitable for all levels of photographers. Participants must bring a camera that can manually set ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and/or are able to set a manual mode. A lens of approximately 50mm full frame is highly recommended. You can also bring your smartphone!
