Description

Today we’ll ignore the events of 1789 and focus on the quartier populaire to the south and west of Place de la Bastille. Find out who lived and worked in the area and how it became equally celebrated for its furniture and its nightlife. Who were the Auvergnats… when were the Black Musketeers replaced by the blind… and why is there a harbor in the center of the city? We’ll also visit some of the delightful streets, lanes and passages that give the area its color and character.

About the Instructor
