For some of us, questions like ‘where are you from?’ are benign, easy to answer; for others, they leave us wordless. In this workshop, we’ll read short pieces about roots and home and write in response to deep, thought-provoking prompts to answer that question. By the end of our session, you will have the start of 2 new pieces. Readings will be sent ahead of time. The workshop is open to writers in all genres, all levels.

Instructor:

Jennifer Lang was born in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Tel Aviv, where she runs israelwriterstudio.com. She has published prize-winning essays in the Baltimore Review, Under the Sun, Midway Journal, and among others. She has an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts , is a longtime yoga practitioner and instructor, and is currently the Assistant Editor at Brevity Journal. Two unconventional books forthcoming, Places We Left Behind: a memoir-in-miniature (9/5/23) and Landed: A yogi's memoir in pieces & poses (10/15/24) both with Vine Leaves Press.
