STORY SPRINTS

DESCRIPTION

Forget everything you thought a writing workshop looked like, and get ready to race against the clock in a madcap team-based writing experience! The challenge? In a single morning, work with two or three teammates to brainstorm, plan, and write a full-length short story, complete with compelling characters, an engaging plot, meaningful themes, and maybe even a surprise twist! While each writer will contribute their own sections or scenes, the story has to fit together into a coherent and satisfying whole.

Through this interactive and fast-paced workshop, guided each step of the way by an experienced writing coach, you’ll practice a condensed version of the complete writing process—and witness firsthand the ways that collaboration and speed-writing can fuel creativity and overcome writer's block.

Writers of all experience levels are welcome!

NOTE: Please bring a laptop or tablet to this event.
