If your new year includes the resolution to be more physically active, join us for a long walk in the country! Beginning at Souppes-sur-Loing and ending in Nemours, this approximately 10 km walk follows the Canal du Loing. This 18th century waterway is still active, and we may be fortunate to see the locks in use. This pleasant, level path will end in Nemours, where we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and have the opportunity to visit the 12th century château and museum (learn more about the château here: https://www.nemours.fr/chateau-musee). We will then return to Paris.

Good to know: we anticipate that, if you choose to participate in every part of this outing (walk, lunch, château), you will leave Paris at approximately 09h00 and return sometime mid-to-late afternoon. Both train stations are in Navigo Zone 5, and you are responsible for purchasing your own tickets ahead of time.

This walk is suitable for many ages and abilities, but you should be able to walk and stand continuously for approximately 2 hours. There are no restrooms or services available between the Gare at Souppes-sur-Loing and where we plan to stop in Nemours. Equipment should include: comfortable walking or hiking shoes, water and snacks, walking sticks/poles (optional).

At this time, this walk is limited to WICE members only. In case of severely inclement weather, we will move the walk to Saturday, February 8.
