VM152 The Daffodils of Parc de Bagatelle

Spring is nearly here and one of the best displays of early spring flowers is the daffodils in the Parc de Bagatelle in the northwest corner of the Bois de Boulogne.

This walk will start at the Piscine Auteuil, crossing over the Péripherique into the Bois de Boulogne between Lac Inférieure and Lac Supérieure.  We will walk through the Bois on dirt paths crossing a couple of roads and coming up to the rear entrance of Parc de Bagatelle.  Along the way we will pass the Shakespeare Garden and the famous restaurant Pre Catalan. The entrance is free at this time of year. The daffodils should be in full bloom making a vivid carpet of yellow.

This walk is a repeat of the one held on March 1st, when the flowers were only just coming into bloom. It is hoped that this time the daffodils will be in full bloom.

Meet at: Piscine d'Auteuil, 1 Route des Lacs à Passy, 16e arrondissement. There is a small area, Square Passy, with benches just in front of the entrance to the Pool.  We will meet there.

The nearest Métro station is Ranelagh, Line 9. It is a ten-minute walk to the meeting place.

Alternatively, Bus 43 stops outside the Parc at the Neuilly entrance for those who prefer a shorter walk. Please let the leader know if you will not be meeting at Square Passy. We’ll meet you at front gate at 2:30pm.

This walk is uncurated: Sara will lead the way and share her knowledge of the Parc but participants are encouraged to contribute their own knowledge. 

About the leader: Sara Somers is an author, on the Paris Writers Workshop planning committee and has been a WICE member since 2015.  She is a avid walker and loves the Parc de Bagatelle as a special place.
