Join us for an introduction to the life and work of Jean Dubuffet! This self-taught artist never mastered the art of drawing, yet was considered one of the greatest artists to emerge in France after World War II.  In recent years, his large scale sculptural pieces can be found in cities all over the world.  They are easily recognizable in their huge red white and blue colors or black and white form.  His chief d'oeuvre may be the 43 foot high "Group of Four Trees" commissioned by David Rockefeller and located in Manhattan.  Photos and maquettes of his work are displayed inside the Museum, and, if we're lucky, an English-speaking docent can give us a brief tour.

Your host for the event, WICE volunteer Suzanne Gurney, will meet you at Cafe Le Standard, 1 boulevard du Montparnasse, Paris, 75006, just around the corner from the Fondation Dubuffet to orient you to artist's works, then you will proceed as a group to the museum (linked here: https://www.fondationdubuffet.com/).

The entrance fee to the museum is 8€, payable by participants on site.
