Sacred Harp Singing

Sacred Harp singing is four-part, a capella singing from the shape-note song book "The Sacred Harp". It is also an American singing tradition that has endured for two centuries and has recently spread worldwide. It is robust, full-throttle singing that fosters enduring friendship among its singers.

WICE members John Bealle and Eloise Clark regularly host Paris Sacred Harp in their apartment. They are introducing a special WICE "singing school" to teach the principles of Sacred Harp for WICE members. The session will run 14h-17h on Saturdays with an instructional session and proceed gradually into a regular singing session where each singer chooses a song.

There is an abundance of online info on Sacred Harp. John and Eloise  recommend the introductory video Sacred Harp Singing, as well as the official website: https://fasola.org/.

Location: John and Eloise's apartment, near the Goncourt metro. The address, door codes, and phone contact will be sent in the 7-day and 1-day reminder emails.

For more information please contact John Bealle at jbealle@ej345.com.
