VM161 Antiques Walk at La Foire de Chatou

We will begin at the gate of La Foire de Chatou, passing various quality levels of brocantes vendors to arrive in the tents of the antiques dealers, for more immersive viewing of antiques. I will be available for additional questions after the tour and over lunch. (NOTE: lunch is not included in the price of the tour.) Stands of an abundance of high quality, resteraunteurs from various regions of France are accessible in two eating areas.

Dealers exhibit various items which cannot be known ahead of time. As we pass various items of interest to members, I will attempt to provide information to aid in awareness of what is being viewed.

BioGRAPHY of Melissa Shanley

I have been a member of WICE during my third return to live in France. (I’m not leaving, this time!) My 40 years experience in antiques valuation and restoration come from my father’s antiques restoration business, for which he created a restoration technique, and from my mother’s antiques appraisal business. I was raised and educated within each, taking over both, to continue managing for decades thereafter. Now having extended my business into France, as antiques consultant and decorator, I help businesses, châteaux and individuals buy, sell, manage, care for and decorate with their antiques. Woods, grains, finishes, and the values they produce in the current market, are my second language I look forward to sharing with you.
