This autumn, a retrospective of Georges Braque at the Grand Palais, offers an overview of the career of the painter who invented cubism with Picasso, and whose life work evolved towards the poetic simplification of shape and its interplay with line and color.

If you are a beginner this is an excellent place to start learning the techniques of acrylic painting, for those returning to the studio or have previous painting experience.

We will look at how Braque distilled his studio surroundings into intriguing compositions featuring contrasting color shapes, sinuous lines, and rich surface textures.

Both beginners and practiced painters are welcome.

Instructor: Jan Olsson holds a Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and is an engaging teacher with many years of experience teaching. She is also a highly skilled practicing artist who exhibits internationally.
