Making the Most of Culture Clashculture clash

This entertaining and informative talk gives us an inside look at what is behind our Anglo pet peeves when dealing with Parisians.  Starting with typical daily situations that often push our Anglo buttons, we will peel away the layers to get to what is essential about the differences between the two cultures. For example, how many times have you been annoyed because a French acquaintance kept you waiting 15 0r 20 minutes? Could it be simply a different way of experiencing time rather than something personal?

In this talk, we will look at how we view and use time, how we balance rules and relationships, manage information, communicate what we need and make decisions.  We look at how to decode the “cultural moment” that is happening before us. Strategies for bridging these culture gaps are proposed in the context of specific cases. Instead of an “us or them” mentality, we learn to leverage what is best in both ways of being and doing in this world of ours. Vive la difference !
