The purpose of this workshop is to help computer users who do not have a technical background, to have a better understanding of their computer and to better maintain their Windows desktop or laptop.  The sessions will be a blend of presentations, demonstrations, hands-on sessions and question and answer sessions.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop to the sessions.  Where possible, session content will be adjusted to meet the needs of participants.

Part I - Computer "Dust Bunnies" - How to remove unnecessary programs, unwanted temporary files, cookies, saved passwords, bookmarks, old emails, and how to organize what's left.

Part II - Malicious Programs - How to remove malicious files and programs, viruses, spyware, adware, etc. and other nasty stuff that sneaks into your computer, and protect yourself from further infestation.

Part III - Potpourri - How to manage your internet connection and WiFi, manage your passwords, backing up your precious files and photographs, and how to give and receive computer help "over the wires".

About the instructor: Paul Lewis is a retired British engineer who has enjoyed helping people from a wide range of cultures with varied educational backgrounds come to grips with technology, over a period of several decades. This includes working as an educator and technical trainer in Europe, the US and a few African countries. He says he's starting to get the hang of it now.
