Visit a fromagerie (cheese shop) in the covered Market St. Martin and hear from our chef, Francoise Meunier, and directly from the cheese shop owner as well, about some of the more than 400 cheeses made in France.

We will be seated while we sample 10 cheeses and hear about cheese made from cow's milk, goat's milk and sheep's milk. We'll learn about the influence various factors have on taste, texture, etc., such as the change of seasons and the location of where the animal is raised (the Pyrénées, Pays Basque, or Corsica, for example).

We'll also discover the crèmerie products you can find such as fromage blanc, fresh cream, and fresh yogurts made from various milks.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the selection at your local fromagerie?  This class will help take the mystery out of how to order and what to order. This class is a great addition to what can be a life-long educational journey about cheese in France.

Instructor: Françoise Meunier trained in the hotel and cooking school in Toulouse.  In 1997, she opened one of the first private cooking studios in Paris.  Attend a WICE Cooking Class where her practical approach and easy-to-follow demonstrations will teach you how to reproduce delicious French and ethnic dishes at home.
